Cautions

To avoid possible damage to the BoB MKII and/or the equipment under
test/construction, it is highly recommended that these guidelines are followed:

·     Do not use this equipment on any “powered” circuits.   Failure to do so could damage the equipment and void the factory Warranty.

·     The BoB MKII system must only be used by suitably qualified and trained personnel.

·     While the BoB MKII is not ESD sensitive, if it is connected to an Interface Adapter that is connected to a circuit board assembly, then the components on that circuit board might be susceptible to electrostatic discharge/damage.   Care should be exercised during handling/repair of these items.  Use electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautionary procedures as necessary.

·     Changes or modifications not expressly approved by Copernicus Technology Ltd will void the warranty and user’s authority to operate this equipment.

·     Heed warnings:  Adhere to all warnings on the equipment and in the operating instructions.

·     Power Source: This equipment should be operated only from internal battery 9VDC or external 9VDC applied to the terminals.

·     Wipe off water or fluid droplets immediately.  Long exposure to water or other fluids may cause damage to the equipment and connectors and may lead to malfunction or an unsafe operating condition.

·     Heat: The product should be situated away from heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat.

·     Read, retain and follow all instructions: Read all safety and operating instructions before operating the equipment.  Retain the safety and operating instructions for future reference.  Follow all operating and user instructions.

·     During use in ‘Bench’ mode, an external power supply could be used. THIS MUST ONLY BE A MAXIMUM OF 9VDC and should never be exceeded or have an AC supply applied.

·     Avoid using the BoB MKII in aggressive liquid, gas or dust environments.

·     Do not use the BoB MKII if it is damaged.  Before you use the BoB MKII, visually examine the BoB MKII (in particular, the connector devices) for signs of deterioration that may impair performance.

·     If the BoB MKII is not to be used for prolonged periods the internal PP3 battery should be removed to prevent corrosion or damage to the contacts of the battery holder.

·     Examine the Test Leads and surface components for damaged insulation or exposed metal.  Check the test leads for continuity.  Replace any damaged leads before using the BoB MKII.  If the serviceability of any component is suspect, do not use the BoB MKII until the fault has been rectified.

·     Avoid working alone.

·     Only use replacement parts listed in the ‘Service and Parts’ section of this manual.  Return the BoB MKII to the manufacturer for all other service needs.

There are no hazardous materials associated with normal use of the BoB MKII.   However, some solutions normally used for routine cleaning may have detrimental effects if misused.   Always read the labels on any chemical and follow the cautions and instructions for its use.
