Powering Down

To preserve correct operation of all variants of the IFD™ TE, always use the following shutdown sequence:

IDFIS™ - Power Off

Ø     If NODES™ is open, close all testing screens and forms, and Exit from NODES™ Options.

Ø     Shut Down the Windows Operating System.

Ø     Leave the DMM and IDFIS™ Pod Switches set to ON.

Ø     Once the Windows Operating System has shut down and the computer has automatically turned OFF,  then press and hold the UPS OFF button until it beeps.

Ø     The LCD screen will immediately prompt with "Turn of UPS Yes/No", (select the up-arrow, ^ ) button associated with the 'Yes' answer, and unlike the Power-Up sequence, all components will turn off simultaneously.

Ø     At this point, the entire IDFIS™, except for power to the UPS itself, should have been turned OFF.

VIFD™ - Power Off

Ø     If NODES™ is open, close all testing screens and forms and, Exit from NODES™ Options.

Ø     Press the Power button to the right of the main touch-screen to power down
  • Note that a shut will not be instigated if NODES™ is still running.
  • NODES™ application will not close, if testing is being carried.

Ø     During shutdown the Status Display will flash blue – on completion it will flash green.

Ø     Select the large rocker switch back to the original, central position – the flashing green Status Display will extinguish.

Ncompass™ 4000 Series - Power Off

Ø     If NODES™ is open, close all testing screens and forms and Exit from NODES™ Options.

Ø     Use the Shutdown on the Windows start menu, to turn off the CC.

Ø     Switch OFF the Ncompass™ Analyzer by operating the red power switch located adjacent to the power supply socket on the top panel of the Analyzer.

Ø     Switch OFF the CC power supply at the mains input.

On completion of power down, all cables should be disconnected on the portable variants before the equipment is moved.
