Legacy Variant Familiarisation

 
This topic highlights the areas a User should be familiar with if they are operating a Legacy Portable product.  The following equipment is needed in order to set up the Ncompass™ 4000 prior to use.
 
 
Legacy Variant Familiarisation
 
Both the Ncompass™ Analyzer and the CC's power supplies are auto-ranging for power grids of 100-240Volt AC, 2A 50/60 Hz.

Ncompass™ Analyzer
The Ncompass 4000 Intermittent Fault Detector and Isolator.

D-sub Connector
37-pin Male D-sub connector cable to interlink the Ncompass and CC.  There are two 37-pin or 68-pin (depending on model) female D-sub on the Ncompass™ Analyzer which allows daisy chaining of Analyzers if more test points are required.  This cable interconnect should not exceed 2m (6ft) in length.

Lid
Drop-down lid to reveal space to store testing cables and accessories.

J1-J6 Test Points
50-Pin D-sub connectors ranging from J1 to J6 for Test Points 1-256.

BNC Connectors
BNC connectors to connect external test equipment to the Ncompass Analyzer; there may be an high-grade connector at the position BNC-2 which was an optional extra.

Controlling Computer
Controlling computer housing an interface card for controlling the Ncompass Analyzer and built-in DMM.

IEC Power Lead
IEC power cable (supplied) is a filtered cable to protect against mains power surge – always use a suitable Surge Protection IEC mains cable for both the Ncompass™ Analyzer and the CC.
