Equipment Unpacking/Packing

Unpacking

Remove the Ncompass™ Analyzer and the Controlling Computer (CC) from their transit cases.

The Ncompass™ Analyzer and the CC (complete with their transit cases) are a two-man lift!

The Analyzer and CC should be located on a safe working platform free from the risk of damage.

Open the Ncompass™ Analyzer enclosure by operating the 5 securing catches.   The lid is prevented from opening past 90° by restraining cables.

Open the lid enclosure on the Ncompass™ Analyzer to gain access to the connecting cables and accessories; these are listed in full at the List of Parts, and include the CC cable, test leads and IEC power cable.
There are different variations of CC supplied with the Ncompass™ Analyzer depending on the clients requirements.  Generally, a portable semi-rugged CC is considered a good option; one such model that is supplied is the Strongbox shown below.

For the CC, the detachable keyboard can be released from the computer housing and by pressing the two round buttons on the side of the housing.
The keyboard should be adjusted to give a suitable operating position and when the keyboard is in place the computer screen will be tilted up slightly towards the User.  It might be beneficial to shield the screen from direct sun light for best results.

Packing

Ensure that all the cables are secured in the lid of the Ncompass™ Analyzer, the internal lid is securely fastened and there is nothing connected before closing the main lid.  Secure all the latches and put back into the transit case.  For the CC, ensure that Windows has been shut-down correctly and the unit has powered down.  Close the keyboard, ensure locked, and then put the unit back into its transit case.
