Managing UUT

This topic covers the test file/data management for the Unit Under Test (UUT), and it includes the adding, editing of UUT and its associated data.  The UUT Add/Edit form shows all the UUT for the selected dataset.  This includes the following two default UUT, which are created with each new dataset and are protected:

  • Default - contains 256 test points mapped against the default J1-J6 graphic.
  • Demobox - contains 48 test points mapped against the Demobox graphic.

Default UUT cannot be amended or deleted, and should be used as templates for creating new UUT within the dataset.

Datasets are used to differentiate between UUT for different clients, contracts or systems.  However, there is no limitation at to the number of UUT that can be held on the NODES™ database.  Each UUT has a MAP Name that is identified throughout the whole testing experience; this MAP Name has to be unique and is referenced by all the NODES™ software applications,.  The UUT Add/Edit form holds other useful data, including graphics, that can be used by the User to help identify and store associated data, which may then be used in reports linked to the test results.

The UUT Add/Edit form will always open and it will point to the last UUT edited or viewed.  If a new dataset has been selected, then the first UUT in the list will be displayed.
