The VIFD™ must be stored correctly with the lid closed and latched, and if possible for deep storage in specialist transit case.

The stated Environmental Limitations apply to the VIFD™ when out of their storage cases. Further protection is provided by placing the items in their storage cases.

Maintenance and Calibration

Storage Limitation – 1 year, then return to Authorised Distributor for calibration and maintenance.
Preventive Maintenance – Pre-Use Checks, carried out by the User.
Corrective Maintenance – Return to Authorised Distributor.
Calibration Period – Annually

Recommended Transportation Limits

The transportation life limits stated below are advisory only and assume that the equipment is transported in the correct storage cases and in benign conditions. However, it is recommended that transportation of the equipment is minimized to essential movements only.

Wheeled vehicle (Road) – 50,000 miles (80,000 Kms)
Rail – 75,000 miles (120,000 Kms)
Air (fixed wing aircraft) – 150,000 miles (240,000 Kms)
Air (rotary wing helicopters) – 25,000 miles (40,000 Kms)
