Ø The Ncompass™ system should be connected as described in the Connecting the Ncompass™ 4000; this should include the UUT Interface Adapter.
Ø Any external peripheral equipment including any Smart Interface Adaptor, coupled to the Ncompass™ Analyzer should be powered up first following the manufacturer's operating instructions. This enables the Analyzer's Controlling Computer (CC) to successfully ‘hand-shake’ with the peripheral equipment.
Ø Switch on the CC by pressing the start operating the switch located above the power supply socket on the computer body. Depress the soft key Power-On button to initiate the ‘boot up’ sequence.
Ø Switch ON the Ncompass™ Analyzer by operating the red power switch located adjacent to the power supply socket on the top panel of the Analyzer. This should illuminate to indicate main supply has been switched to the Analyzer.
Ø Once the CC has completed its ‘boot up’ sequence the Ncompass™ Analyzer is now in a ready for testing.
Ø Double-click on the NODES™ icon takes you to the NODES™ Options menu. Follow the link to 'How To Test' to learn more about testing and the Main Testing Menu options in more detail.
Ø Depending on version of NODES™ that has been installed (post Ver1.225), if NODES™ does not start or it causes an error, double-click the NODES™ Recovery icon
