Common  Fields
1. Common Fields
The top part of this form is common to all Test Profiles, see Test Profile - Common Fields for more details.
2
DMM Settings
2. DMM Settings
The DMM settings can be forced to certain settings for Resolution and Range for each Test Profile.  This ensures that the DMM is optimised for the specific TP, and this helps the test to run faster.
The Range is restricted to 1v for certain models of IFD™ TE.

Test Method & Samples
3. Test Method & Samples
The Test Method allows each Test profile to be tailored for each TP.  The Test Methods allowed are shown below and the resultant measurement is calculated based on the selected Test Method and the number of samples taken at the time of test.  The default is set and locked as 'OneRead' and limited to a sample of 1.
4
Gold Value
4. Gold Value
The Gold value is Volt Diode value which can be either, the theoretical value for this test or can be set as part of the Diode Testing.
There is the option to include checking the Reverse Bias of the diode during the test.  If selected, the TPs are automatically swapped, the Reverse Bias checked, and then returned to normal Forward Bias testing.

Tolerance Values
5. Tolerance Values
These fields are used to set the tolerances that will be used during the Diode test using this profile.
Both Tolerance fields can be expressed in a number of different formats, ie as a absolute value in Volts or as percentage of the Gold value.  If the value is in the 'Plus' field, then this tolerance is added to the Gold value; conversely if the value is in the 'Minus' field then this tolerance is subtracted from the Gold value.  These upper and lower tolerances are then compared to the measured value.  Examples formats are as follows:
  • 5% Þ 5% is either added or subtracted to the Gold value for comparison.
  • 0.4 Þ 0.4 Volts is either added or subtracted to the Gold value for comparison.
The Upper and Lower tolerances are calculated on leaving the respective field to allow the User to see the tolerance band applied in Volt Diode.
